Artistic Expression

In 2005, ACAP opened a performing and expressive arts studio, Art Links 333, in Waukesha’s arts district to offer its members the opportunity to explore their artistic nature in an environment that is part of the arts community.

ACAP PlayMakers

ACAP PlayMakers is a theatre collaboration of ACAP and the Waukesha Civic Theatre begun in 2006. Each year members of ACAP and community actors associated with the Theatre team up to produce and perform several productions. To date eleven shows have been performed either on the main stage or in the studio theatre of WCT.

Art Links Works

Art Links Works is a micro-enterprise conducted at the Art Links studio where ACAP members create garden sculptures and other clay art to sell in the studio store or at local famer’s markets. The proceeds from the sales replenish supplies and pay the artists.

Music & Technology

Music & Technology is a series of classes that employ computer technology and adaptive access devices to enable ACAP members to play and create music irrespective of physical disability. A switch ensemble, a choir, and several music composition classes give members an outlet for their musical expression.

Movement Classes

Movement Classes offer ACAP members experiences in adaptive dance and choreography related to the ACAP PlayMakers program. Members learn and practice adaptive dance movements and create interpretive expressions to popular songs.

Varied Media Art

Glass Art, Recycled Art, and other media whiich offers ACAP artists avenues to create mosaics, stained glass wall hangings, jewelry. photography, and other art forms
