The 28th Annual Theme Table Event will be held Friday, April 12th and Saturday, April 13th 2024. With a room full of tables designed down to the smallest details, come join us for cocktails, food, and visual splendor. A Friday afternoon Walk-Through from 12-2 pm is open to the public. Tickets are required for an elegant Friday evening Formal Candlelight Viewing. On Saturday, a Ladies’ Luncheon will cap the two-day event, with the meal catered by That’s Amore.
In 1995, a home and school group in a small Brookfield Catholic school was looking for a fundraising opportunity. Jill Bergen and Georjean Zilles stepped forward to chair the event, and the Theme Table Event (formerly the Ladies Theme Luncheon) was born. Each year, this local philanthropic group chooses a different theme for the event, and each hostess decorates her table with that theme in mind. Some past themes have been "These are a Few of My Favorite Things," "Thanks for the Memories," and "Little Shop Around the Corner." Over-the-top table decorating would be an understatement for how these tables are decorated.
In 2001 the group adopted an official name, "Designing Women with a Cause (DWC)" and moved out into the community with this fundraising event. Over the years, DWC worked with a number of charitable organizations and eventually settled on a partnership with ACAP. In addition to the Saturday luncheon, they expanded to include a Walk-Through Viewing on Friday afternoon and a Friday Evening Candlelight Viewing with wine, appetizers, and music, where guests enjoy the beautifully decorated tables for dessert and coffee. Saturday's Luncheon features a Viewing, raffles, and a wonderful lunch catered by That's Amore of Greenfield.
Over the past 25 years, the women of DWC have raised over $425,000 for various charities. Some of the generous, hardworking, and creative participants have been with the event for 25 years. ACAP is grateful for the dynamic and caring organizers of the Theme Table, who, along with ACAP staff, volunteers, and generous community donors, make this event possible.
